AN ICONIC LANDMARK

Defined by panoramic views, seamless connectivity, and a vibrant lifestyle, Australia Square is more than an address - it’s a landmark that captures the essence of Sydney.

ARCHITECTURE

An icon of the Sydney skyline, internationally renowned Harry Seidler created an iconic CBD precinct with Australia Square. Replacing a city block of 30 different amalgamated old properties, he designed Australia Square which became Sydney’s first skyscraper. The 50-storey circular tower occupies only 25% of the site with a total floor space of 12 times the site area. The remainder of the city block is publicly accessible with usable outdoor space, including trees, a fountain and outdoor restaurants.

ART

Australia Square was the first in Sydney to truly meld offices with public spaces, art, dining, and retail in one site. Australia Square features specially commissioned art pieces for the public to enjoy. The vibrant and colourful lobby mural by American artist Sol LeWitt was installed in 2004. The building forecourt features 'Crossed Blades' by Alexander Calder, an abstract steel sculpture situated on the corner of George and Bond Streets. The sculpture in the piazza is titled 'Waiting' by John Johnson II (born 1930).
